Hi, I’m Amy. I’m a Principal UX Designer focused on design systems, working closely with product to shape better outcomes for the people who use what we build. Design systems are not an abstract layer. They help product designers move faster with more confidence and make the end-user experience clearer and more reliable at scale.

I’ve spent 14+ years turning complex product problems into systems teams can use without overthinking them. At Expedia Group, I lead design system strategy across brands, at the intersection of design, engineering, and tokens. The goal is simple. What we ship should feel intentional, well-crafted, and work reliably for the teams building with the system and for the people using the product.

I stay close to the details. Component structure, naming, states, theming. The decisions that make a system easy to use or easy to ignore. I use real product work as a feedback loop to shape and refine the system. That input keeps it honest and useful. I work closely with engineering because the system has to hold up in code, not just in Figma.

More recently, I’ve been focused on making systems machine-ready. Not as a buzzword, but as a real shift in how design and code get generated. AI tools only work if the system behind them is structured well.

A lot of what I do is creating shared understanding. Clear tokens, clear patterns, and clarity on what “done” actually means before things scale across teams.
